Through a joint venture with Shaia Oriental Rugs of Williamsburg,
Samuel S. Case is proud to offer new and antique rugs of quality
and distinction at our Purcellville showroom.
Many of our new rugs are from the “new trend” in oriental rugs.
This “new trend” started about 1985 when a small group of rug
makers revived the lost art of hand twisting wool and dyeing it
with natural vegetable based dyes. These are the same techniques
that were used in the golden area of rug making in the 1920s. The
resulting rugs have beautiful variation in color and texture and
at first glance can be mistaken for antique rugs. Rugs of this
type are very labor intensive and represent only 2 or 3% of the
rugs being made today.
Please stop by to see these fabulous rugs or inquire about our
complete rug services including cleaning, repairs, appraisals, and
padding.
Also, you may want to consider having our local Shaia Rug
representative, Bob Loker visit your home. Bob can come out and
work with you or your interior designer to get an idea of your
needs. Then utilizing Shaia rug resources in Williamsburg,
Virginia Beach, and New York he can select several rugs to bring
to your home for approval. Bob makes house calls in most areas in
the eastern United States.
Bob has been a principal in Shaia rugs for over 25 years, is a
certified rug appraiser, and lectures on rugs at The College of
William and Mary. He currently lives in the Purcellville area.
Please contact him at our showroom- 800-733-2725. |
